Principal PCB Design Engineer Consultant
Thirty-plus years ago, I started routing traces by hand with the aids of a light table and an ex-acto knife. Today the boards are denser, the signals faster, and the tolerances tighter — but the job hasn’t changed: turn a schematic into hardware that works the first time, every time.
I’m Christine, a Principal PCB Design Engineer Consultant specializing in advanced layout for teams building products where failure isn’t an option — medical devices, automotive electronics, high-speed networking hardware, and dense IoT systems. I don’t just place components and route copper. I engineer for signal integrity, power delivery, and manufacturability from the very first layer, so the board that comes back from fabrication is the board you designed — not needing a respin.
Why I do this work
Every board tells you something before it’s built — where the signal will ring, where the power plane will starve, where the fabricator will hit a wall. Reading those signs early is the difference between a one-week bring-up and a three-month scramble. That’s the value I bring to a project: not just layout hands, but layout judgment.
How I work
I plug into your existing team and toolchain rather than asking you to adapt to mine. Fluent in Altium Designer and Siemens PADS Professional, I work from your schematics, your constraints, and your timeline — available remote or on-site, for a single critical board or as ongoing layout bandwidth across a product line.
What sets the work apart
Precision, not guesswork. Controlled-impedance calculations, stack-up decisions, and decoupling placement are calculated, not estimated.
Manufacturing-first thinking. DFM and DFA verification happen throughout the design, not as an afterthought before you ship files to fab.
Fabricator relationships. Direct collaboration with board houses and assembly partners to catch problems before they become first-pass failures.
A partner, not a subcontractor. I integrate with your engineering process and communicate the way your team already works.
The short version: 30+ years, two CAD platforms, zero patience for a respin that didn’t have to happen.
